Captured in December 2024, Azhagi by Made by Aala, led by architect Vineeth A.C., unfolds as an ode to raw materiality and quiet emotion. Set amidst the mist-laden landscapes of Thodupuzha, where the fog drapes softly over the foothills of the Ghats, the house reveals its soul through exposed brickwork, bare, grounded, and profoundly honest.

 

As a photographer, the challenge was to translate its geometric play of form and space into visual rhythm, to capture not just the structure, but the silences between walls and the warmth within them. Inside, Azhagi turns inward, wrapping its inhabitants in a sense of intimacy and quiet comfort. It feels like a space waiting for new stories to unfold, where every brick, shadow, and shaft of light becomes part of its evolving narrative.

 

This series seeks to reveal the poetic duality of Azhagi, the rawness of its exterior against the tenderness of its interiors and the way nature, fog, and light together breathe life into its stillness.
